Directors

The Directors of NESS Super Pty Ltd are responsible for managing NESS Super (the Fund) in the best interests of the members. They ensure that the Fund is operated in accordance with its Trust Deed, rules and superannuation law, for the benefit of all members.

Paul was appointed Chairman of the Board of NESS Super on 20 May 2021 and was appointed to the Board as an Independent Director on 21 March 2019.

Paul holds a BSc from Sydney University.  Paul runs his own consultancy business specialising in strategy formulation, executive coaching & mentoring and Board governance. Paul has almost forty years' experience in banking and finance, with previous roles as Chair of NPP Australia Limited, Managing Director roles with Mortgage Choice, Permanent Trustee and Heritage Building Society. Paul has held senior executive roles with Westpac in Sydney and London. Paul has also served on the boards of Sunsuper, Cancer Council NSW, House With No Steps and Thorn Group.

ETU appointed Director

Steve was an Alternate Director at NESS Super from 30 July 2015 to 7 October 2015. He was appointed as a Director of NESS Super on 7 October 2015. He brings to the position extensive experience in the electrotechnology industry and strong knowledge of industrial relations.

Steve has 25 years’ experience working as an Organiser/Industrial Officer for ETU NSW and as an Organiser for the Communications, Electrical, Electronic, Energy, Information, Postal, Plumbing & Allied Services Union of Australia.

Steve has also served 6 years as a Board member of the NSW Workers Compensation Dust & Diseases Board, current member of the ICARE Dust and Diseases Board and is a qualified aircraft avionic engineer.

Steve currently sits on the Trades Assessment Panel for Training Services NSW.

Brad was appointed as a Director of NESS Super effective 1 March 2019. He has worked in the electrotechnology industry for 25 years.

Brad has worked as an Organiser for ETU NSW and in negotiating Industrial Agreements in several industries including construction, service, mining, rail and maintenance. Brad has also been responsible for conducting on-site construction safety.

NECA appointed Director

Chris was appointed as an Alternate Director from September 2015, then a Director from December 2019. Chris is a chartered accountant with a wealth of experience in the electrical contracting industry. He has held the role of Managing Director at Stowe Australia since 2007, Director of Stowe Australian from 2004 to 2007, and prior to this worked at Goldman Sachs and Arthur Anderson.

Chris is an Executive Committee Member of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NSW branch) and the Electrical Contractors Association of NSW. He is an Audit Committee Member and has held the role of Treasurer since 2013.

Chris is the Chairman of the Investment Committee.

John was appointed Director of NESS Super Pty Ltd on 21 May 2021.

John has worked in the electrotechnology industry for over 40 years. He was previously the Managing Director of Heyday Group and is currently a self-employed management consultant. John is also a director of Warrah Society, a not for profit (registered charity) organisation offering quality supports for adults and children with disability in Sydney’s North West. John brings a background in business strategy, tendering and business development, project delivery and financial reporting.

Paul joined NESS Super in January 2018 as our new CEO. Paul has 25+ years’ experience in the superannuation sector, having had long CEO tenures at AMIST and ClubPlus super where he grew those Fund’s significantly. Paul is passionate about helping members retire with as much dignity as possible.

Felix joined NESS Super as Risk and Compliance Manager in February 2021. Felix has over 25 years’ experience in the superannuation and financial services industry, with a strong background in compliance, risk management, governance, and superannuation operations. Professional experience has been gained within industry funds, corporate funds, retail funds and consultant firms from both a superannuation trustee and business perspective. Felix holds a Diploma of Financial Services.
